Today we resume the interviews with our colleagues focusing on the Valencia delegation to chat with someone who knows every corner of Workout Events like the back of his hand. We are talking about Alejandro Sahuquillo, although if you ask for him in any assembly, everyone will answer with a smile: “Ah, you’re talking about Sahu”.
His story with us is that of someone who gives himself with enthusiasm from day one to build a dream. He started in the company as a fitter in 2008 and, since then, his career has been a constant growth driven by his great effort and involvement. Today, as Director of the Workout Delegation in Valencia, he temperately leads services throughout the Levante and Balearic Islands, but still maintains that curious look of someone who enjoys seeing how an empty space comes to life to host an event.
Outside the office, Sahu is a Valencian who finds in his 9-year-old son the engine to give the best of himself every day. We encourage you to get to know him better below!
You’ve been working at Workout for a lifetime… can you tell us a funny anecdote you’ve experienced here?
Of course! When I started in the team of Assemblymy first service was at Cirque du Soleil. The coordinator saw me short and pretty skinny, so he told me I wouldn’t last half a day… and, well, here I am still.
What is your day-to-day life like as Director of the Valencia Delegation?
Every day is different. I coordinate personnel, materials and schedules; I review lists, visit clients, supervise on-site services, manage unforeseen events… It’s a job that combines organization, communication and a great capacity to adapt.

What motivated you to specialize in event staging?
I’ve always liked to see how something is created from scratch. In the editing you see the result of your work every day: structures, scenarios or spaces that come to life thanks to the team’s effort. It is a very visual, demanding and rewarding job.
The Valencian Community hosts events as big as Las Fallas, the MotoGP Grand Prix or international music festivals. How does the team prepare for these types of projects?
We have a regular staff base that is highly involved and trained and, whenever necessary, we reinforce the team with new additions. The key is to anticipate and maintain coordination among everyone.
Do you have a favorite event you participated in that you remember with special fondness?
Among the events I have most enjoyed working as staff are the MotoGP Grand Prix of Cheste, the Latin Grammy held in Seville and different music festivals. All of them are big projects, with a lot of movement, and at the end I always have the satisfaction of having been part of something important with a great team.
What do you value most in Workout fitters and technicians?
Attitude. You can teach technique, but not commitment. I value people who have desire, respect and teamwork spirit. When there is a good attitude, results always come.
What are your objectives for the Valencia delegation in the coming years?
I would like the Levante delegation to continue growing, but always on a solid base: mutual trust with our clients and the professionalism of our people. My main objective is that we continue to be a united team and a reference in the events sector, where each service is a reflection of our commitment. In short, to work so that the future of Valencia is as bright as the effort we put every day in each assembly.

Now tell us about yourself, how do you balance the intensity of events with your personal life?
Those of us who work in the events sector in the Valencian Community know that the busiest time of the year is when most people are on vacation. It is not always easy, especially when I have to travel for an event and I am many days away from home… Luckily I have the support of my partner and family. I try to organize myself and make the most of my time with them.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Going out to enjoy Valencia, making outdoor plans or simply disconnecting and hanging out with my family and friends. I also like to reflect and learn new things; I am quite curious.

Thank you very much for sharing this little while with us, Sahu.
