If you were thinking of working at festivals and music shows in 2023, you’re lucky! The start of the festival season is just around the corner and we, at Workout Events, need to increase our teams.
From the Rock In Río at Madrid to the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim. At Workout Events we are very proud to work for some of the most important music festivals in our country. Every year, we dedicate all our efforts, talent and expertise to make the new editions a constant success.
In addition, the festival industry is expected to come back stronger than ever this 2023 and do so with new music shows that will make their mark on the national scene.
What personel profiles are needed to work in a festival?
The staff of music festivals differs from one event to another, as they don’t have the same features and needs, but there are some essential job profiles that are common to practically all of them. At Workout Events we have listed the personnel that music festivals require below:
– Crew
This kind of crowded events require huge structures such as stages, bleachers, sets, bars, sponsor stands and, frequently, complementary attractions such as a Coachella-style Ferris wheel. To set them up, promoters must hire professional staff to ensure the quality and safety of the festival.
Among the most requested crew profiles are climbers, scaffolders, hand basics, assembly assistants and audiovisual assistants.
– Security assistants / access controllers
Security personnel check that all persons accessing the different parts of the venue are authorized or have their wristband or ticket to go to the event. In the stage pit, in the staff area or in the area where audiovisual materials are stored, security assistants are in charge of guarding and protecting both property and people, including both artists and attendees.
At the entrances, these workers are also in charge of controlling the entrance to the festival of any type of object that could be dangerous, as well as narcotic substances.
– Ticket agents
Each festival has its own method, but the most common is that attendees buy their tickets online and, on the day of the event, go to the box office to pick up their corresponding wristbands.
The staff in charge of ticket verification and sales usually have a similar profile to those in charge of token sales.
· Waiters
What would a music festival be without beer? The waiter is a very important figure in this type of events; This is a profile that requires the ability to work under pressure, interpersonal skills, versatility and, in many cases, knowledge of several languages.
– Promoters / Hostesses / Entertainers
In the biggest festivals of the national scene you will always find stands of sponsoring brands that, in parallel to the musical program, encourage attendees to interact with their products.
Among the most common functions of this type of profile are customer service, distribution of samplings and merchandising, photocalls, coordinating the possible queues of attendees that may form at the brand’s stand, etc.
· Runners
The runner is one of the least visible figures in festival logistics, as they are always on the other side of the party. The runners are responsible for the transportation of artists, VIP guests, staff and even materials during the event.
– Cleaning and maintenance personnel
The cleanliness of the site is essential before, during and after the festival so that both attendees and workers can enjoy the activity. This staff is in charge of making sure that everything is perfect in every corner of the venue: restrooms, food areas, dance floors, beverage bars, etc.
