Born in Madrid, specifically from the bustling municipality of Leganés, César describes himself as a simple guy with an unbridled passion for profitability and numbers.
He studied Business Administration and Management, in addition to obtaining a degree in Teaching with the aim of expanding his career options, although he never worked as a teacher. His passion for learning and the versatility that characterizes him have led César to work in sectors as diverse as banking and events.
His professional career began after completing a course in financial terminals, which allowed him to work for several years in the offices of entities such as La Caixa and Banco Sabadell. However, his decision to change his career path led him to join Workout Events 7 years ago to lend a hand in the financial department.
Since then, César has been a fundamental pillar in the administration of Workout, where he started helping his colleagues in invoicing, accounting and budgeting, until he became Assistant to the Financial Management. Let’s get to know a little about his day-to-day work:
What does the Administration Department of an event staffing company do?
It depends on the size of the company. At Workout Events, for example, the department is very large and is subdivided as follows:
- Billing: We send, issue invoices…
- Payments: We ensure that all staff receive their payment correctly and handle any issues that may arise in this regard.
- Collection: We oversee outstanding payments.
- Purchasing and General Services: We acquire or reserve everything necessary to carry out a service.
- Accounting and Treasury: This is my main role in the company, ensuring that the company’s accounts are up to date and that every payment leaving Workout is properly registered.
What would you say is the most challenging part of your job?
Playing the role of bad cop with my colleagues. Sometimes it is difficult to convey to everyone that there must be a control of expenses and that we must provide receipts and invoices for all movements so that we can justify them from our department.

From time to time you go to the events themselves to act as Staff Coordinator. How did the transition from the office to “street” work come about?
I started doing services as a waiter for events in the middle of the pandemic to supplement my office salary. I did it out of necessity and kept repeating because, although I’m a money guru and would always like to earn more, I also like to get out of the routine and be part of what Workout is really all about: event staffing.
Has it changed your perspective on the company?
No doubt about it. In fact, I think that all of us who work in an office should go to an event as a waiter, hostess, assistant… It helped me to respect and get to know the great work that our colleagues do every day.
Changing the subject… We’ve heard you’re the most sustainable employee in the Madrid office.
I am probably the least polluting person in the company, but not because I am committed to caring for the environment, but because I am an economist. As with everything in life, I study the possibilities of making the things I do as efficient as possible in every way: lower cost, less time, etc. That’s why I come to work on a bicycle.
You also like to work out in your free time…
I’m a sports freak! I play paddle tennis, soccer… but what I am most passionate about is the world of motorsports. I have traveled all over Europe to attend Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Do you have any other hobbies?
When I left my first girlfriend, I signed up for dance classes with a friend and I was hooked! I’ve learned salsa, bachata, kizomba, rock ‘n’ roll, chachacha… Nowadays I don’t do it as much as I would like, but I love to dance.
What would you say is the phrase or word that best defines you?
FUNNY. At first, my attitude may seem rude because by default I’m quite distrustful and I don’t open up with people. I think it’s a pleasant surprise, getting to know me and discovering that I’m actually a close and fun person, who loves to tease and joke around.
Finally, how do you see yourself in 5 years?
I’m sure it will be very different from the way I am now because this year I’m going to be a father and I imagine that will change my life a lot. However, I would like to continue to be part of the company.
I admit that there was a time when I didn’t understand when people said Workout is a big family, but nowadays, I really do feel that sense of belonging with Workout, with my colleagues, and with the events world.
